Payment Policy

Four lines make up a Zaptim order: the dresses. Shipping. Sales tax in the states that levy it. The total. Nothing is added after the total. Nothing. This page explains how each line is built and what your card sees.
One total, shown before the button
US dollars, always. The number on a product page is the number in the cart. Ahead of the order button, the summary shows the dress prices, the shipping line ($5.99 under $59, $0 from $59), a sales tax line if your state requires one, and the total. That figure is what is charged. No processing fee. No currency fee from us. No "international" line, and no charge at delivery, because duty is paid before the parcel leaves China. We do not run subscriptions, memberships, installment plans or free trials, so no second charge can ever follow the first.
Two ways to pay: Stripe and PayPal
Stripe handles cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express. Apple Pay and Google Pay too, on devices that support them. PayPal handles PayPal balances and anything linked to a PayPal account. Two doors. No third. A method not named here, such as a check, a bank transfer or cash on delivery, is not one we take.
One charge, at the moment you order
The charge to your card or PayPal account happens when the order is placed, not when the dress ships, because the dress is pulled from the supplier's stock on the strength of that payment. A declined card produces no order; try another card or PayPal, and if the decline repeats, your bank is the place to ask, since we see only the decline and not its reason. A failed attempt can leave a temporary hold on the card. That hold is not a charge. It only looks like one. It falls away on its own at the bank within 5 to 10 business days, and nothing on our side can hurry that.
Zero card numbers on our side
Card details are typed into a field that belongs to Stripe or to PayPal, encrypted in transit, and never stored on a Zaptim server. Our staff cannot see a full card number. Ever. Both processors are certified under the card industry's PCI DSS standard, and both run their own fraud screening on each payment. What we will not say is that any payment is perfectly safe; what we can say is that the card data never passes through us at all.
One charge you do not recognize
A Zaptim charge appears on a statement under the payment processor's descriptor, which can look unfamiliar. If a line on your statement puzzles you, or an amount differs from your order total, email contact@zaptim.com ahead of any dispute with your bank. We reply within 1 business day with the order the charge belongs to, and where a charge is wrong we refund the difference within 4 business days. A dispute opened with the bank first freezes the money on both sides for weeks. That helps nobody.
Refunds go back the way the money came
A refund lands on the card or PayPal account it came from. Same door out as in. We issue it within 4 business days of approving the return or the cancellation, and the bank or PayPal then takes 3 to 10 business days to show it. The Refund and Returns Policy sets out which situations are refunded in full, including shipping, and which are refunded less the $5.99 outbound fee.
