Numbers first, reasons second. That is how this page is written, and it is how the shop is run. Each figure here is repeated under the dresses and at checkout, so if two of them ever disagree, the page is wrong and the parcel is right. Tell us and we fix the page.

One country of origin: China

Origin: China. Zaptim keeps no stock of its own. A manufacturing partner in China holds each style, pulls the size you chose, packs it, and hands the box to a carrier bound for the United States. One box, one flight, one door. The fact sits first on this page because every number under it follows from it.

Returns run the other way, and never that far. A dress you send back travels inside the US to Goldsboro, North Carolina, once a return authorization has been emailed to you. Goldsboro is a desk with a returns room behind it. It holds no stock, so a box that shows up unannounced cannot be matched to anything. Nothing goes back to China. The Refund and Returns Policy carries the full route.

$0 at the door

Terms: Delivered Duty Paid. Import duty and import tax are paid on the Chinese side before dispatch, so the checkout total is the final total. No customs letter later. No fee for the driver. If a carrier ever presents a charge at delivery, refuse it, keep the slip with the carrier's name and reference, and write to us before the day is out. The dispute is ours to run, not yours.

9 to 16 business days, in two clocks

Handling: 1 to 3 business days. That is the time to pass the order to the supplier, for the supplier to pull and check the dress, and for the carrier to collect it.

Transit: 8 to 13 business days, counted from the first carrier scan to your door. A parcel crossing an ocean is scanned in stages, and the gaps between scans are normal.

Add them. 1 and 8 make 9. 3 and 13 make 16. Plan on 9 to 16 business days, counted from the order, and expect most parcels to land somewhere in the middle. The identical window is printed under every dress. Business days are Monday to Friday; no Saturday, Sunday or US federal holiday counts. We offer no express option, because no courier can hurry a single dress across the Pacific.

Cut-off: 2:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday to Friday. Order ahead of it and that day is business day one. Order after it, or on a weekend or a federal holiday, and the count starts on the next business day. We set the line at two in the afternoon so the day's orders can reach the supplier ahead of their morning, which begins while North Carolina is asleep.

$5.99, or nothing from $59

Two shipping lines exist. No third.

  • $5.99 per order when the subtotal is below $59.00.
  • $0.00 when the subtotal reaches $59.00.

The fee is charged once per order, not once per dress, so a second dress inside an order below $59 costs nothing extra to ship. Subtotal means the dress prices once a discount code is applied and before tax; the $5.99 itself never counts toward the $59. Why $59? Two dresses from the rail get there at almost any pairing, and the pricier styles get there alone. No handling charge exists here. No packaging charge, no fuel surcharge, no rural surcharge. What the order summary shows for shipping is what your card is charged for shipping.

48 states, one district, no PO Boxes

Served: street addresses in the lower 48 states and Washington, DC.

Not served: Alaska. Hawaii. Puerto Rico and the territories. PO Boxes. Military mail through APO, FPO or DPO. Any address outside the United States.

The checkout form lists only the states we can reach, so an address the form refuses is one the carrier route cannot yet cover. It says nothing about you or your order.

One tracking number, two carriers

One number follows the parcel from China to your door. The long leg rides a tracked line-haul service picked by the supplier's forwarder. The last leg, inside the United States, belongs to a domestic carrier, and on most routes that carrier is USPS. The number lands in your inbox when the supplier scans the parcel out, and the Track order page accepts it alongside your order number and email. Early scans are thin. Once a US truck has the parcel, scans come daily. Seven business days with no new scan is the threshold that makes us act, and the section on missing parcels below says how.

One tax line, set by your state

Sales tax is decided by the delivery address. States that require it get a tax line, calculated on that address and shown on its own line before the order button is pressed. States without that requirement get no line at all. Tax never hides inside a dress price or a shipping fee, and there is no separate import tax, because duty was settled on the Chinese side under the terms above.

24 hours to correct an address

Address changes have a 24-hour window, measured from the moment the order is placed. The same window covers cancellation. Send the order number plus the right address to contact@zaptim.com and it is changed before the order moves. Once the parcel has left the supplier the destination is locked, since a parcel in international transit cannot be redirected. Please read the apartment number and the ZIP code twice before you confirm; a parcel delivered to the address on the order is a delivered parcel. A box that bounces back because the address was incomplete is handled under the Refund and Returns Policy.

10 days to report a damaged parcel

Damage on arrival, to the dress or to the box: 10 days from delivery to report it. Send the order number, one photo of the damage and one photo of the outer packaging. Two photos. Nothing else is needed, because two photos are what the carrier claim runs on. Then choose: a replacement dress at our cost, or every dollar back, shipping included. Unless we ask, a damaged dress stays with you; we hardly ever ask.

3 days after a "delivered" scan, 7 without any scan

Two problems. Two clocks.

Scanned as delivered, but no parcel. A "delivered" scan can run a day ahead of the truck. Ask the household, a neighbor and the front desk, and allow 3 days. Still nothing? Write to us. A carrier trace goes out, and a parcel the carrier confirms lost is either replaced or refunded, every dollar, whichever you prefer.

Silent tracking. Seven business days in a row without a scan means a carrier trace and a forwarder query go out on the day you write.

Every message of this kind gets a reply within 1 business day. Closing the case, meaning a replacement on its way or the money back, takes 4 to 8 business days from the point we hold your order number and photos, because a trace that crosses two carriers answers slowly.

2 business days to tell you a size sold out

Stock sits with the supplier, so a size can sell through between your order and the hand-off. If it does, an email reaches you inside 2 business days with three options: hold the order until the size is back, take another size or another dress at the same price, or take a full refund, shipping included. Substitutions are never made for you.

Two Chinese holidays, and weather

Three things stretch the window. We name them here so the tracking page does not have to.

One: the two long public holidays in China. Suppliers close for Lunar New Year, in late January or February, and for the National Day holiday in the first week of October. An order placed just before either can take several days longer than usual before it leaves. No number of days is quoted for these pauses, because the number moves from year to year. A notice goes on the site when one is near, and any order not yet dispatched can be held or cancelled for a full refund at your request.

Two: US federal holidays. Not business days, never counted.

Three: the unscheduled kind. Storms, a customs inspection, a carrier disruption. A parcel we can see stuck gets an email from us saying what we know. The $0-at-the-door promise holds however long the parcel takes.

One federal rule on the date we promise

The Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, an FTC regulation, obliges a seller to dispatch inside the window it publishes. Where that becomes impossible, the seller must say so, offer a new date, and let the buyer either wait or cancel and be refunded in full. Every late Zaptim order is handled to that rule. Nobody has to ask.

30 days to send it back

A return can be opened up to 30 days after the delivery date, with no restocking fee. Returns are domestic parcels to Goldsboro, North Carolina, sent after an authorization is issued. Postage falls to us or to you according to the reason. Each reason is priced in the Refund and Returns Policy.
